  • Montgomery County Adult Protective Services – Services to adults who may be in need of assistance as a result of impairment from age, illness, addiction or mental limitations.

  • NYS Office for the Aging – Our Mission is to help older New Yorkers be as independent as possible for as long as possible through advocacy, development and delivery of person-centered, consumer-oriented, and cost-effective policies, programs and services which support and empower older adults and their families, in partnership with the network of public and private organizations which serve them.
  • NYS Office for the Aging, Employment Services – The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) exists for New York State residents who are income eligible and age 55 or over.
  • NYS Office for the Aging, Elder Caregiver Support Program – NYS Elder Caregiver Support Program assists informal caregivers – spouses, adult children, other family members, friends and neighbors in their efforts to care for older persons who need help with everyday tasks.
  • NYS Office for the Aging, Transportation – Whether seeking a ride to a physician’s office or to the nutrition center, or looking for information on driver safety, older New Yorkers need to know where they can seek assistance in meeting their transportation needs.

  • Administration for Community Living (ACL), Administration on Aging (AoA) – The Administration on Aging (AOA) is the principal agency of the U.S Department of Health and Human Services designated to carry out the provisions of the Older Americans Act of 1965 (OAA), as amended (42 U.S.C.A. § 3001 et seq.). The OAA promotes the well-being of older individuals by providing services and programs designed to help them live independently in their homes and communities. The Act also empowers the federal government to distribute funds to the states for supportive services for individuals over the age of 60.
  • National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), AoA – Directed by the U.S. Administration on Aging, NCEA is a resource for policy makers, social service and health care practitioners, the justice system, researchers, advocates, and families.
  • Eldercare Locator – A public service of the U.S. Administration on Aging connecting you to services for older adults and their families.You can also reach us at 1-800-677-1116.
  • US Department of State, Eldercare – Eldercare issues and resources of importance for Foreign Service employees and family members caring for elderly parents, with specific information about long-distance care giving.
  • US Department of Health and Human Services, National Institute on Aging – The NIA is at the forefront of the Nation’s research activities dedicated to understanding the nature of aging, supporting the health and well being of older adults, and extending healthy, active years of life for more people.

  • Alzheimer’s Association – Formed in 1980, the Alzheimer’s Association advances research to end Alzheimer’s and dementia while enhancing care for those living with the disease.
  • Commission on economic Opportunity, Foster Grandparent Program – As a senior, you may be looking for a way to make a difference in the lives of our young people. Or, maybe you want to meet new people that share your interests. Or, maybe you could use a little extra income.
  • ElderCare Resource Center – Over 1,200 links to elder care resources including government benefits, support organizations, geriatric doctors and skilled nursing facilities.
  • National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) – The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging’s primary mission is to build the capacity of our members so they can help older adults and people with disabilities live with dignity and choices in their homes and communities for as long as possible.
  • National Center on Senior Transportation – The National Center on Senior Transportation (NCST) strives to increase transportation options for older adults to support their ability to live independently in their homes and communities throughout the United States.
  • Association on Aging in New York – Albany-based Association advocates with the New York State Legislature to ensure the state’s Area Agencies on Aging have adequate funding to meet demand for home- and community-based services for an ever expanding population of older New Yorkers.
